In reading the news and following the housing bubble I became interested in the house of cards that held our economy together. I wanted to high light this crisis that was going to effect my generation and the generation to come.

Next year I want to do another sketchbook project to highlight the people, LIKE YOU, that have been effected by the monetary policies and actions of the financila industry.  If  you have a story and would like to be a candidate for a linocut in next years sketchbook project email me.

Thank you for all the beautiful comments. I was looking through your sketchbook and also on your blog, and i just wanted to tell you that I feel like what you're doing is incredibly powerful. Nothing crosses barriers and evokes emotion quite like art, and your's has such a strong political message...

The tour is coming nearish to me, and I really hope to see your sketchbook in person :)

Thank you Jennifer,

I had to look at the

Eisenhower warns us of the military industrial complex

Again.  In it he says we should "never take anything for granted".

Too bad we can't be told something and then act in the wisest way.

HA!  I love the rhyme!  Have you ever seen Dwight D. Eisenhower's address to the nation his last day in office about the "Military Industrial Complex"?  Very chilling...

Glad we have connected as well.  I LOVE that your comment here back to me about the Financial Crisis statement is #33!  That's my lucky number.  I have it tattooed on my left wrist!

Keep in touch.  PEACE!

PS.  Book?

I hadn't really  thought of a Financial Crisis Statement before.  I am blogging about the crisis and the different faces that I am presenting in the book.  My idea is to add quotes to the book that reflect others in history that warned us againstt such a fraud.  When I intially read your question this is what came to mind.

Rub-a-dub-dub three men in the tub,

And who do you think they be?

The politician, the banker, the security maker,

Turn them all our knaves all three.

I really like your style.  It's very similar to mine when I work in that medium.  Thanks for the comment as well.  Do you have a statement for the Financial Crisis Series?

Hey, thanks for the add. I promise once I coax my scanner into functioning again I'll put up some of my sketchbook pages!
