My name is Barbara, but you can call me Babi. I was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, where I majored in Graphic Design and I started my career as an illustrator.
In 2000 I went to New York to attend the AOS program in Illustration at the Pratt Institute for two years.
Upon returning to Brazil, I moved to Sao Paulo, where I lived for the past eight years, working for such diverse areas as advertising, books, magazines, fashion, animation, etc ... I also participated in a few exhibitions.
Despite having experience in different areas, the work that gives me more pleasure, is to illustrate children's books. One of the things that makes me happiest is to see my table covered with pencils and inks of various colors, waiting to be used!
You are very welcome to visit my website ( ) or my blog, with more recent work ( ).

Thanks a lot, Elizabeth, Shirley, Olive, Mimi and Alessandra! To @noisician: I think I have around 20 or 30 spreads left, I am sooo late! And I usually draw a quick sketch at location, but I've been carriyng my camera everywhere so I can register evrything around me and work peacefull in desk later... It's easier, isn't it?
